At B&C Beyond the Cover, our mission is to rekindle a love for reading and build a vibrant, inclusive community where people of all ages can explore, connect, and grow through books. We believe that literature opens doors to new ideas, personal growth, and shared experiences. By offering a wide variety of books, we aim to inspire both children and adults to rediscover the joy of storytelling. Our bookstore is more than just a place to buy books; it’s a space that fosters curiosity, creativity, and connection, bringing people together through the transformative power of reading.

Meet the Owners

Baylee Summers,

From Manitowoc WI, raised in nearby Two Rivers, Baylee rekindled her loved for reading in college while earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Arts Management at UW-Green Bay. It was in college that she discovered her passion for mentoring youth through ABLE RCO, namely discovering the importance of teaching social emotional skills to the next generation. Striving to continue to serve her passion of empowering others and encouraging everyone to find a passion of the magic of reading — she and Chloe created B&C.

A few other fun facts about Baylee:

She is a devoted cat Mom who other than reading enjoys watching Packer Football, Bucks Basketball, and Kraken Hockey with her husband. In her spare time you will likely find her listening to music, researching her next vacation destination (or maybe just visiting Disney World again), creating or immersing herself in art, or enjoying being present with family and friends.

Chloe Nyquist,

Chloe, originally from Sheboygan, WI, recently relocated to Manitowoc, WI. Her love for reading was reignited during the summer before college, at a time when she was going through a challenging period in her life. It was through books that she found an escape—an opportunity to step into a different reality and leave her own behind, if only for a while.

After returning from college, Chloe discovered ABLE RCO, where she deepened her passion for mentoring youth. Driven by a desire to empower others and share the transformative magic of reading, she co-founded B&C with her close friend Baylee. Together, they work to inspire others to find their own passions through the power of books.

A few fun facts about Chloe:

Chloe is a proud dog mom who loves nothing more than spending time with her furry companion. When she’s not lost in a good book, you can find her unleashing her creativity through crafting and writing, or indulging in a well-deserved nap. Outside of her hobbies, Chloe is all about adventure—whether she’s exploring new places with her boyfriend, reorganizing her space for the hundredth time, or chasing her dreams as she works toward her Business degree.
